Which undertones suit you best? I always start a makeup lesson teaching my clients about colors. From eye color to skin color, it is important to learn what works best to complement your features and undertones.
To begin, you need to figure out whether you have cool, warm or neutral undertones. Doing this can take a little practice. The easiest technique to determine your undertone is by looking at the veins on the inside of your wrist, in natural lighting.
Do your veins look Bluish-Purple? If so, you have cool, pink undertones and are considered to be Cool.
Do your veins look Greenish-Purple? Then, you have warm, yellow undertones and are considered to be Warm. Some people (myself included) are Neutral, meaning they tend to look paler with pink undertones in the winter months, but then look more golden/yellow once they begin to tan slightly in the summer months.
People who are Neutral can get away with wearing most colors within either warm or cool range, but need to stay within the reasonable intensity of shades. For example, wear soft pink versus bubble gum pink.
If you are having trouble deciding whether you are Warm, Cool or Neutral, try comparing your vein coloring to a friend’s veins and ask for their opinion as to what undertone you both are. This way, you’ll have something to compare yours too!
Hope this helps you out when you are figuring out your skin’s undertone! See you Tuesday with more beauty tips and tricks!! xoxo -Ashley
