The Evening Face: All About Intensity!!!

download

Under artificial light or by candlelight at night, makeup can be more vivid and more dramatic. Colors can be darker; cheeks can appear more daringly angular; black mascara a must. You want your face to be mysterious, glamorous, striking. Night invites fantasy. It’s time to play!

  1. Apply eye cream and moisturizer.
  2. Apply foundation, which can be heavier for the evening. Choose one with more coverage, will look like velvet under low-intensity lights or candlelight.
  3. Use concealer over foundation in this instance to correct imperfections and to even out foundation, blending well with a sponge.
  4. Use either pencil or the brush/shadow combination on your brows. Coat with a clear mascara or brow gel.
  5. You can go darker on your lips for the evening, either a more intense version of your favorite color or a shade of red complimentary to your skin tone. To get a precise line for a dramatic lip, line your lips first, then fill in the rest of the color with a lipstick brush.
  6. Try a darker shade of cheek color for the evening and concentrate on making your cheekbones stand out in bold relief by using the darker blush slightly under the apex and a shimmery highlighter on top to catch the light.
  7. Set your makeup if you’re out for a long evening by fluffing a sheer layer of translucent powder over the entire face. Use a clean powder brush to remove excess.
