How-To Curl Your Lashes (Like A Pro)

  1. To get the best results, make sure that your eyelashes are clean and free of any old mascara.
  2. Open the lash curler and place the entire upper lashes into the curler as near to the lash line as possible without pinching the skin. After making sure the curler is holding all the lashes, squeeze gently (squeezing tightly will cause lashes to crimp) and hold for five seconds. Most eyelashes will curl in just a few seconds.
  3. Open the curler and move it halfway up the lashes. Squeeze it closed gently for an additional two to three seconds.
  4. Open the curler for the last time and move it close to the tips of the lashes. Curl for another second. Doing this makes lashes curl into a C shape, duplicating naturally curly lashes. Curling only at the base of the lashes can result in an L shape, which doesn’t look as natural.
  5. Follow with mascara. After mascara, your lashes should not fall; if they do, your mascara is too heavy for your lashes. Try a waterproof mascara formula, which helps retain the curl.
